This is the largest number of troops to return to Fort Stewart since the division began re-deployment of 16,500 troops from Iraq. Most of the division is expected to remain in Iraq through August. The majority of the soldiers are from the 24th Corps Support Group which provides general combat service support to units of the 3rd Infantry Division.
